1.
Wind Zone
"Plus" Construction.
Oak
Creek homes are built to last. Every Oak Creek home is built
to exceed the Standard Wind Zone I construction standards required
by HUD. In fact, each home is designed to exceed the Wind Zone
criteria of 15 pounds per square foot by 60 percent! Our
special metal connectors and straps, lag bolts, screws and nailing
schedules bond the frame, floor and roof components into a solid
structure that can withstand gale wind forces up to 25 pounds per
square foot. What's more, we use double studs, rafters, and
joists at key structural areas. These and other construction
details assure that Oak Creek Homes have an extraordinary structural
integrity and durability for years.

2.
Heavy
Duty Steel I-Beam Frame.
A
solid home must rest on a solid foundation. Oak Creek makes
sure of that with solid steel heavy duty I-Beam frames, continuous
arc-welded connections of all steel components and heavy duty cross
members, tow bars, and outriggers. The entire frame is fully
painted to protect against corrosion. The double I-Beam
construction in the axle area of larger multi-section and single
-section home chassis gives extra support and rigid strength during
transportation.

3.
Floors
Designed to Last.
Superior
design and high quality materials make our floors flat and
durable. Oak Creek uses double floor joists at each end of the
home. Joists are sixteen inches on center rather than the
common 19 or 24 inch spacing. The 2 x 6 joists (on 14 foot
wide sections) and 2 x 8 joists (on 16 and 18 foot wide sections)
are top grade # 2 or better lumber, nearly 50% stronger than commonly
used # 3 lumber.

4.
Solid
Wall Construction.
Oak
Creek builds a solid exterior wall exactly like site built homes
with full 2 x 4 exterior studs (or optional 2 x 6) made from high
quality lumber. Interior walls and wall plates are made of 2 x
3 and 2 x 4 members rather than 1 x 2 or 1 x 3 lumber used in many
manufactured homes. To provide maximum structural integrity
and sound deadening qualities, all interior and exterior wall
panels are mechanically fastened and fully glued. Framing
members are solidly secured together with nails and screws.
Our goal is strong, solid durable construction, not
"cheaper" construction.

5.
Safe,
Solid Quiet Sheetrock Walls and Ceilings.
For
a residential look, a solid feel, improved sound deadening
(sheetrock walls are 50% quieter than paneled walls) and fire
resistance, gypsum drywall sheetrock is used for all walls and
ceilings. Optional taped and textured walls include strong
plywood underlayments, full 1/2 inch thick sheetrock and beautifully
textured and painted surfaces. Prefinished wall panels have
vinyl wall coverings. Much superior to paper wall coverings, vinyls
offer unsurpassed beauty as well as a tough, cleanable,
mar-resistant finish. The sprayed acoustical ceiling feature a
full residential sheet rock ceilings board. It's glued with
Foam-Seal and mechanically fastened for extra strength.

6.
Superior
Exterior Siding and Application.
Oak
Creek uses premium, durable, factory primed Masonite brand hardboard
siding. Hard and heavy, it withstands weather far better than
other leading brands and exceeds industry weather ability
standards-- ANSI/AHA 135.6-1984. All seams, joints and nail
heads are caulked and sealed, followed by two coats of hand applied
semi-gloss latex exterior paint. Masonite hardboard is manufactured
for all weather. It won't dent, corrode, splint, crack,
delaminated or become brittle with age.
It's so quiet that
driving rain and scraping tree branches go unnoticed. The
result is air-tight, beautiful Masonite siding that hugs you home,
provides thermal insulation, prevents air infiltration, and saves
money on you energy bills for years. Other exterior sidings include
vinyl lap siding and Smart Panel treated siding.
